Care
Cacti
A cactus is easily satisfied. It prefers a bright spot and can even handle full sun.
Cacti require very little care. For optimal growth and flowering, it is best to follow the tips below.
Caring for your cactus
Water
During the growing season from March through September, watering once every two weeks is sufficient.
During the dormant period from October through February, watering once a month is enough.
It is best to give the cactus a lot of water at once and then skip it for several weeks. This is better than giving the cactus a little bit of water each time.
Fertilizer
During the growing season from March through September, your cactus appreciates a little fertilizer once every 6 weeks.
Repotting
It is necessary to repot cacti once every 2 years in the spring. You can use cactus soil or potting soil for flowering plants for this.
Tips
- A group of cacti together is a real eye-catcher.
- Try spraying cacti with water occasionally.
- Always water cacti with white hairs from the bottom.
Succulents
A succulent is a plant that is easy to care for. Succulents need a lot of light, and most species can even be used outdoors in a rock garden, as border plants, or on the terrace in beautiful decorative pots. For optimal flowering and growth, it is best to follow the tips below.
Please note! Succulents are not hardy. Hairy species and species with a powder on the leaves should preferably not be placed outside.

Diseases
The most common pests are mealybugs and root mealybugs. These are small insects that hide in a wool-like substance. Many garden centers sell products to combat these pests. A mixture of rubbing alcohol with a bit of insecticidal soap can also help. When treating these, also watch out for eggs that may still hatch.

Tips
- Be careful with hard water (containing lime), as this causes leaf spots.
- Give succulents plenty of light. UV radiation helps the plants maintain better color.
- Succulents can stay outdoors during frost-free weather.
- When moving plants outside, do not place them in full sun immediately. Let them acclimate first in a shaded spot.
- Succulents are easy to prune, which can create beautiful shapes.
